There is a Reason it’s Called Contending!

Sometimes in the Project someone will describe the difficulties they had in praying IMG_1062the week before every day/set time/set place, and I remind them “that’s why I named the book ‘Contending for the Habit of Daily Prayer.” It is a daily battle.

When you have had to struggle for prayer or you feel you have been attacked by the enemy because of prayer, don’t be surprised! That’s contending!

  1. Praise the Lord. Pursuing His presence this morning through praise and worship, was filled with awe. (Matt.28.20) just the joy that I felt that He’s always with me when I seek Him daily and draw closer to Him….in place of intimacy I’m filled. Praise the Lord.(Ps.106) Following this, I was led to Pastor Scott Fowler’s book ( Contending for the Habit of Daily Prayer,pg.111) speaks about “Jesus’s Habit of Prayer” is first priority, fellowship and surrendering His agenda completely to His father through worship, I then realized that ….Father God, forgive me for not doing that. In Jesus’ name. I ask for your great grace to enable me be that you have called to me to be. Amen!

  2. Yes, Pastor Scott. Good word! Interesting to picture the (gloves) imagine an army going a battle without a proper gear? That’s why the Bible reminds to “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, put on the full armor of God so that we can stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ps.47:6-7) Like David, I started off this morning by praise and honor to the Almighty God, same place not always the same time. Praises to Him for waking me and family up this morning, for strength and good health to face another. For His mercy endues for ever and ever. Amen! Realizing for every each battle will contending with His with us always and through prayers more things are conquer in Jesus’s name.
